Bridge May Be Icy

This mystery photo contest was so much fun. I loved every answer. Three cheers for all the guesses involving frost. Those little white furry things are hoarfrost growing between the planks of a wooden bridge.

Thanks for participating.

Ha! That was fun. I am carefully sharpening my skills of perception so when the next one comes along I'll guess right!

Oh, I missed the contest, but I knew what it was as soon as I saw this picture. Very cool.

It looks like I'll have to have another contest soon.

Fantastic! I missed by a long shot -- and I'm someone who has actually spent a morning taking pix of hoarfrost! It may have been the regularity, the symmetry of this that threw me off. Or perhaps I succumbed to suggestions of the season.
I'm itching to get out and take cold weather pix again. But first, a better camera and finger relief.

TimInMich: The bridge was over a swamp that had little or no flowing water. I bet if there had been a current, the crystals would have been less regular. Hmm. This may require a careful study of winter bridges.
