Tiny Rubble in My Wine

The mystery photo was tannic acid crystals remaining in a glass of red wine. The blue background was made from a couple of plastic placemats. Yeah, I know that's an unusual subject. I hope you had fun guessing.

This is an unusual subject, and I debated whether to use it as a mystery photo. It seems, however, that most people who enter my contests don’t care what the answer is. They want to make a silly guess and receive their virtual award.

Once again, there are no prizes. 

Last time I gave awards to the most creative answers.
They were all creative answers.

I never know if these are hard or easy. When I ask someone in my family if he can identify the photograph I’m planning to post, he usually reminds me that he watched me take the picture.

 Yep, the picture is a close up of sycamore bark. This link is better than the picture I took of the whole tree.

Mystery Photo

In preparation for the upcoming familial feeding frenzy, I have embarked on my own cleaning/shopping/cooking frenzy. In keeping with the spirit of celebration, I’m holding a mystery photo contest. The winner will receive leftover turkey shipped to his or her home.

Not really. Much of our leftover turkey will be sent to college with Sam to nourish him through his upcoming final exams. 

There are no prizes.

But there will be awards! 

All you have to do is guess what the photo is and tell me in the comments section.

Bridge May Be Icy

Swirly Brown and Gray

Lori is right in one for this mystery photo. It’s a close-up of a wasps’ nest, although I don’t know what kind of wasp. This enlargement was marginally beyond the capacity of my camera, and I apologize for the grainy pixels.

The other guesses were great. Perhaps I’ll use some of your suggestions for future mystery photos.
