Traveling Chipmunk

One of my pictures is featured today at City Muse Country Muse. Thank you, Gina and Juliet!

This little fellow likes to sun on my front steps. He has a tunnel under the lawn and hiding places under the rose bushes. I call him Chip. The dozen or so chipmunks that live by my kitchen window are all called Dale.

When my sister was growing up she had a pet gerbil named Chip. Boy did she love that critter. She was really torn up when he died.

I enjoy watching chipmunks run around, but hate what they do to my yard...I feel the same way about deer.

Kim, we live on the edge of a wetland corridor, which is lovely, but the wild area brings lots of critters and weed seeds. Around here, the chipmunks don't seem to do as much damage as the deer and the woodchucks.

Yes, they are so sweet and fun to watch. They don't seem to be doing much damage beyond holes in my lawn this year, but one year, my entire flower bed erupted from their tunneling underneath, maybe a nest?

Something is eating my lily bulbs and leaving the stalks lying on the ground. It could be Chip and his friends.
