Love your crane fly close-up, Ann. Now I need to look more closely at one to notice those green eyes. And did you notice the beautiful halteres (the gyroscopy things that flies have instead of a second pair of wings) in your close-up?
Thanks, Natalie! Buffy, I saw the halteres but I didn't know what they were or what they were called. A few weeks back, TimInMich identified dead man fingers mushrooms for me. If I keep posting pictures, I stand to learn a lot.
