Love these photos, Ann, especially the Jack-in-the-pulpit. And seeing them made me reconsider what I need to plant in the open spots in my very shady garden out front. I'm going to look for some Brunnera--that looks like it would work especially with those variegated leaves.
Thanks, Buffy. There are several varieties of Brunnera, with different leaf coloration. I have some Jack Frost with silver veins and I'm getting some Looking Glass with all silver leaves. The deer don't like them because the leaves are rough textured.

The close-ups are great, but I'd love to see a few wide shots showing the transformation of your feral back yard.
