Thanks, Gina. Eventually, I decided to leave the poor butterfly alone photograph something else.

Ah, a giant swallowtail, a most excellent butterfly (with a hideous, poop-like caterpillar). One of my very favorites. I presume that's Buddleia (butterfly bush)it's on.
You're getting quite good at this. The middle photo, against the sky, is your "money shot" with a bit of cropping on the left.

No, you'd need a green and red butterfly, wouldn't you? I don't see that happening around here! Some sulphurs are green/greenish, and one of those on a red flower could work. And there's a fairly common green and red leafhopper around here. You must have seen it. We're talking serious macro work there. Of course, there's always photo manipulation (hue/saturation) if you want to go down that road ...
