Coining Another Revision Term

I have a new term for scenes that once had conflict and pushed the plot forward, until revisions ground them into pablum.

Dead Air

What do you think? Does anybody have other suggestions?

I like dead air. Nice and succint. I've always thought of it kind of like being attached to a loved one whom you are then unable to pull the plug on, despite the fact that they have no quality of life left whatsoever. Let us all take our comatose chapters off life support!
