Back in Michigan

I forgot to bring the camera on an evening walk out to Picnic Point so I couldn't photograph the full moon over the Capitol dome. It was a magical evening with moonlight reflected on Lake Mendota, and fireflies zooming around us.

I saw old friends, colleagues and mentors.

I still can't explain why I am a former scientist. (See sidebar bio.)

Madison seems to be experiencing an economic boom. The recession is much more obvious in Michigan.

  1. Ann, you still ARE a scientist. For what is writing a novel other than a series of experiments? You left the science of biology, and entered the science of story. It seems a natural progression to me. . . :)

  2. Thanks, Lori. As always, you see the big picture.

  3. Ann-
There is no such thing as a former scientist. Once a scientist, always a scientist. It is a state of mind, an inquiring mind, in whatever endeavor.

  4. Thanks, Ann.
Perhaps I should have said I can't explain why I'm no longer working in science.
